The Gun Log app stores detailed information of firearms, ammunition, shooting sessions, weapon configurations, and even failures.
The Gun Log App does not transmit, share, or use any of your data for any purpose. It is your data, it is on your iOS device and any backups that you make.
Weapon information includes:
- Make (A “make picker” is included so you don’t have to type the info)
- Model
- Caliber (A “caliber picker” is included)
- Configurations (such as Factory Setup or maybe a custom setup with a target barrel or a scope)
- Maintenance History
- Purchase Information
Ammunition information includes:
- Make (Used for factory ammo, such as Winchester White Box)
- Caliber
- Type
- Bullet Weight
- Average Velocity
- Price
- Bullet (Make of bullet for hand loads)
- Powder
- Grains of Powder
- Primer Type
- Case
- Overall Length
Firing Session information includes:
- Location or Event
- Date
- Notes
- Firing Sets (A firing set is a set of rounds fired at a target)
Firing Set information includes:
- Weapon (A “weapon picker” is included)
- Weapon Configuration (A “weapon configuration picker” is included)
- Ammo (An “ammo picker” is included)
- Distance to target
- Firing Method (Such as slow fire, rapid fire, or others)
- Firing Stance (Such as prone, isosceles, Weaver, or others)
- Group Size
- Target Number (Used for reference if you keep your targets on file)
- Rounds fired
- Failures
- Point of Impact
- Point of Aim
- Wind Direction
Failure information includes
- Failure Type (A “failure picker” is included. Failures such as fail to feed, double feed, and more)
- Failure Cause
- Notes

- Failures by Weapon
- Firing Sets by Weapon
- Firing Sets for Accuracy by Weapon (Sorts firing sets by POI distance)
- Firing Sets for Grouping by Weapon (Sorts firing sets by Group size)
